HOMESTAY

Staying with a local host family while studying at Hawaii Palms is a great way for students to get a closer feel for the local culture and practice their English after school. All of our host families have been visited by a Hawaii Palms staff member and screened to ensure that they will provide students with a safe, clean, and comfortable place to stay. Most host families live in the suburbs of Honolulu, between 30 and 60 minutes from school by bus.

Students enrolled in our Homestay Program get:

  • Their own private room (students enrolling together may request to share a room)
  • Two meals a day: breakfast and dinner
  • A unique cultural exchange experience through a screened local family
  • A chance to improve their English fast through daily, practical conversation
  • The opportunity to experience a part of Oahu that few tourists get to visit

SHARE HOUSE

A Share House is a place for students to share part (or all) of their living space with other students or travelers. Share Houses are located in and around Waikiki, and are ideal for students who want the convenience of being close to school while having the opportunity to live with and meet new people.

Students may choose to stay in either a Shared Room or a Private Room (depending on availability). Share houses normally have communal living spaces – kitchen, living room, and sometimes bathrooms.

Share houses tend to book early, so students who prefer communal living should try to book their room as early as possible.

Accommodation Placement Fee: $200
Share House Price: Starting at $600
