Three-day weekends are used for exploration, adventure, and our exciting activity programs.
Our classes are small - we limit the number of students to 8 - so you can receive more personal attention from your teacher.

We use General English to discuss how the exam is structured, what strategies should be used, and what skills should be developed. This class does not "teach to the test" rather, it helps students improve the language skills they need in order to do well on the TOEIC test and, in turn, helps students improve their general knowledge of English.
*Students must take the TOEIC Admission Test when you register.

| Classes | Conversation 1, 2, 3 Pronunciation 1, 2, Grammar 1, 2, Reading/Writing 2 Business English, Survival English |
Conversation 1 (Beginner) - Students acquire elementary skills in listening and speaking. Conversations are guided through the use of conversation questions that introduce English expressions used in everyday situations.
Conversation 2 (Intermediate) - Students acquire more sophisticated skills in listening and speaking. Conversations continue to be guided through the use conversation questions that approach conversation on the basis of theme-oriented situations. However, conversations are allowed to flow as they will as students demonstrate the ability to speak more naturally.
Classes are designed to help students communicate more clearly in English through better pronunciation.
As well as learning how to pronounce individual sounds, students also learn about speech rhythm and intonation. By learning how to link sounds together and have more natural sounding sentences, our pronunciation class can actually help students understand native English speakers better.
Grammar 1 (Beginner) - Students at the beginning level learn the parts of speech and their various functions as well as the basics of sentence structure.
Grammar 2 (Intermediate) - Students at the intermediate level broaden and increase their understanding of increasingly complex grammar components, such as clauses, gerunds and infinitives, and phrasal verbs.
This class is designed for intermediate students. Using literature and personal topics, students learn techniques for generating ideas and discover how to revise and edit their writing, as well as skimming texts for meaning.
This is a short American English course for intermediate level students in or preparing for work who need to improve their communicative ability when socializing, telephoning, presenting, taking part in meetings and negotiating.
HPES offers classes devoted solely to Survival English and includes very basic functions that students may need immediately on arrival in an English speaking country. The class is designed for students with little English-speaking ability.
